Digital Strategy

Beyond simply making content, it’s important to know why you’re posting on social media, what you’re writing about online, and what platforms you should be using to better connect with your target audience. You don’t have to be on every platform or use every single tactic if you don’t have the time to get the most out of them.

SOCIAL PLATFORMS USED PROFESSIONALLY

  • Facebook, Instagram, Threads, Twitter (X), LinkedIn, YouTube and TikTok

TOOLS USED FOR SOCIAL STRATEGY AND CONTENT MANAGEMENT

  • Hootsuite, Agorapulse, and Metricool

  • Drupal, Wordpress, Squarespace, Wix

  • Asana

 TOOLS USED FOR ANALYTICS

  • HEAP, Sailthru, CrowdTangle

  • Google Analytics

Creative Production

Graphics and videos help get your point across and your mission and vision to more people. While nothing will ever be perfect, as a graphic designer I do my best to get damn near close. Over the last decade I’ve worked with organizations like the ACLU and Equality South Dakota to tell stories through branded content (videos, graphics, and printed materials) and better inform supporters. This has taken shape in various forms from infographics to Instagram carousels and animated videos displaying critical news and information.

TOOLS USED TO CREATE CONTENT

  • Adobe Creative Suite (Photoshop, Illustrator, InDesign, Premiere Pro)

  • CapCut, TikTok

  • Canva

SPECIAL CONSIDERATIONS

  • Accessibility: Alt text and accessible color stories help ensure everyone can be a part of the conversation. No one should be left behind because they can’t fully understand or engage with your message.

  • Language: While at the ACLU, it’s been important for our communications to remain accessible to the communities we serve so we have made it a point to translate important Know Your Rights information into Spanish such as what to do when interacting with police and how to vote. We’ve also translated ballots to Braille for folks in our communities who need them.
